Talking mat (robot mat)

Description

This is a special mat, for the robots Bee-bot, Constructa-bot and Blue-bot to move on. Students can program their robot according to the teacher’s instructions, to follow specific routes on the mats.

For example, the teacher could ask the students to plan a simple program for the robot (ex. make your robot go from A to E) or more difficult ones by using restrictions (ex. make your robot go from A to E but don’t use the FORWARD button, or by passing by C, or using only 3 commands etc.).

The Talking mat is placed under any 4X4 mat and makes your robot talk!

Instructions for use

1.       First, connect the four tiles and create a base for the mat (60 X 60 cm).

2.       Turn the base upside down and place the sensors under each spot we need to add sound to.

3.       Connect the sensors with the control box.

4.       Turn the base again so the sensors are located underneath.

5.       Place any 4X4 mat on the base.

6.       Use the control box to record a sound for each sensor (it could be additional instructions, sound effects, or anything you’d like).

7.       Change the robot’s battery hatch cover with the one included.

8.       Place your robot at the beginning and program it using its buttons. Each time it passes over a sensor you’ll hear the recorded sound.
