Description
Pro-bot is a robot for young children. It has the shape of a race car and it is very easy to use, while it fascinates young and old children! It can be used for individual or team work enabling children's active participation in creative and experiential learning. It is an ideal tool for introducing programming, problem solving, following directions, enhancing short-term memory, improving intrapersonal and interpersonal skills and developing cognitive skills, such as observation, sequencing, calculating, space perception, orientation, descriptive language, matching, imagination, creativity, problem solving and many more.
It can be used interdisciplinary for learning numbers, colors, letters, shapes, syllables, number sense, word recognition, equation solving, syllable and sentence composition and other activities.
Pro-bot is the latest and more advanced version of the robot. It looks like a race car and it has command buttons, number buttons, a pen holder and a screen. The screen displays each command as it is added to the program and while the robot is executing a command it is highlighted on the screen (the screen can display up to 16 lines of commands each time and when a command is executed it scrolls down). In addition, we can place a marker in the pen holder and the robot will draw its route while moving.
Pro-bot can repeat and follow a series of commands, including 1 main program and 32 sub-programs (sub-procedures). Each sub-procedure can store up to 128 commands and each main program can also store up to 128 commands. When a stored sub-procedure is added to the main program it only counts as a single command. The Main Program is preserved in Pro-bot’s memory even if it is turned off.
It has two operating modes:
· Bee-bot mode: it can execute the same commands as Bee-bot and Constructa-bot FORWARD, BACKWARD, LEFT TURN 90°, RIGHT TURN 90°, CLEAR, PAUSE 1”, GO.
· Logo mode: it can execute the above commands, but the user defines how many degrees it will turn and the length of the forward and backward commands.
